Parents Reaching Out Grants – Ontario Ministry of Education

April 20, 2011

Children do better in school when their parents play an active role in their education. The Ontario government is helping more parents connect with their school community.

Parents Reaching Out (PRO) grants can help you receive additional support for resources you need to become more involved in your children’s education.

There are two types of Parents Reaching Out grants:

Grants for schools are available to school councils only. School councils can apply for grants to help parents who may not be involved in their child’s education because of language barriers or unfamiliarity with Ontario’s education system.

Grants for regional/provincial projects are available to parent organizations and to school boards, non-profit organizations and post-secondary institutions working in partnership with parents.

The deadline for applications is May 13, 2011.

For more information on the program, please go to Parents Reaching Out Grants <http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/parents/reaching.html> . You can also call the ministry to get more information:
